Bayern Munich exec tells Alexander Nubel he has no future with club
Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl stated that Bayern has communicated to Alexander Nübel’s management that extending Manuel Neuer and Sven Ulreich contracts would make it difficult for Nübel to stay, given Jonas as the second-choice goalkeeper. Nübel joined Bayern in summer 2020 and made only four appearances, including one Bundesliga match, one Pokal match, and two Champions League matches. He was loaned to AS Monaco for two seasons and then played for VfB Stuttgart for three years. His Bayern contract runs until 2030, with market value reported around €12–14 million. At Stuttgart, he reached the Europa League Round of 16, a DFB-Pokal final, and finished fourth in the Bundesliga, returning Stuttgart to the Champions League. He was also called up to Germany’s World Cup squad.
"“We've already made a clear communication to his management that if we decide to extend Manu and Sven's contracts, and we already have Jonas as #2, then it will be difficult for Alex with us. I'm sure he will have many options to continue his career at another big club” (as recorded by @iMiaSanMia)."
"Nübel joined Bayern in Summer of 2020 and has made just four appearances for the team - one Bundesliga, one Pokal, and two Champions League matches. He was sent on loan to AS Monaco for the next two seasons and then has been with VfB Stuttgart for the last three years."
"His contract with Bayern goes until 2030, while various websites have his market value anywhere from €12-14 million. This season, Nübel led his team to a Europa League Round of 16, a DFB-Pokal Final berth, and a fourth place finish the Bundesliga - putting Stuttgart back in the Champions League."
"He was also called into Nagelsmann's squad for Germany's World Cup this Summer. Where does his future lie? We should find out in the coming months."
