Spencer Schwellenbach is rehabilitating after bone spurs were removed from his pitching elbow in mid-February 2026. He has started throwing from 60 feet on flat ground every other day, beginning six days ago, and expects this phase to last about two weeks before moving to 75 feet. If that goes well, he hopes to begin throwing off the mound. Even with early sessions going well, mound work would require multiple steps before a rehab assignment. Braves manager Walt Weiss reported that no timeline has been set for his return to big league action. A speculative return could be August or September, assuming no setbacks. AJ Smith-Shawver is also working toward a return this summer after Tommy John surgery last season.
