Google is launching its own version of OpenClaw
Gemini Spark is an always-on AI agent announced at Google I/O 2026. It can write emails, create continually updated study guides, and monitor credit card statements for hidden subscription fees. The agent is powered by Gemini 3.5 Flash and runs in the background 24/7 using virtual machines on Google Cloud. It connects to Workspace apps including Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Slides, and expands to third-party apps through the Model Context Protocol, including Canva, OpenTable, and Instacart. This summer it will interact with local files on macOS through the Gemini app. Users will be able to text and email Spark directly, and it will eventually connect to Chrome and provide live updates in an “Android Halo” UI space. Spark operates under user direction and requests permission before high-stakes actions like payments or sending emails.
