Kansas City has bought more than 4,500 MacBook Neos for its students - Engadget

Kansas City Public Schools plans to become an “all-Apple district” by replacing more than 30,000 Windows PC and Chromebook devices with Apple hardware over time. The district has already acquired more than 4,500 MacBook Neos for students in 8th grade and above. Younger students will use existing iPads and MacBook Airs. The MacBook Neo laptops are offered to education users at a discounted price of $499 for both students and teachers. The bulk purchasing arrangement suggests Apple may be increasingly targeting education buyers. Microsoft previously offered a student discount software bundle, but school or university access to programs may reduce its appeal for older students.
