CorSera: Milan open to January striker signing but need sale first - the main candidate
"AC Milan could end up signing a striker in the January transfer window, but a sale will reportedly be needed first. As Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) report this morning, Milan are having issues in attack. Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic are contributing regularly, though they have barely played together and the alternatives - Santiago Gimenez and Christopher Nkunku - are yet to score a league goal."
"With Pulisic out against Lazio due to muscle fatigue, a chance was presented to Nkunku to demonstrate why Milan paid €38m plus bonuses to sign him. Yet, he delivered another flat performance and remained on zero Serie A goals."
"Above all it is West Ham and Sunderland that seem keen, and the Rossoneri are waiting to see if they will make a significant offer for his permanent signing. Given that Gimenez cost €30.2m and signed on a four-and-a-half-year deal back in January of this year, his residual value after what will be 12 months of amortisation will mean that a figure of around €24m or more will generate a capital gain."
AC Milan face attacking issues as Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic contribute but rarely play together, while Santiago Gimenez and Christopher Nkunku remain without Serie A goals. Pulisic missed the Lazio match with muscle fatigue, giving Nkunku a chance that resulted in another flat performance and continued goal drought. Gimenez is sidelined with an ankle injury and also has no league goals. Milan plan to strengthen the attack in the January transfer window but will fund any additions through player sales. West Ham and Sunderland are interested in Gimenez. A sale around €24m or more would generate a capital gain.
