Niki Leondakis led three hotel companies and served as CEO of Equinox before joining CorePower Yoga in 2020. Roughly a year into her Equinox tenure she stepped down after her home burned down in a wildfire; exactly a year later her husband died of a sudden heart attack. She found herself without a husband, career, or home within a 12-month period. She had practiced yoga for over three decades, earned a 200-hour yoga certification to deepen her understanding of its history and philosophy, and used yoga to find grounding, gratitude, and healing. The CEO role at CorePower Yoga felt like a calling, and she had told her sister she wanted to lead the brand before it approached her.
