Van Epps ran on a right-wing platform focused on opposition to trans rights, including calling gender surgeries 'mutilation' and opposing trans women in women's sports. Republicans emphasized Behn's support for trans rights, and Trump urged voters to 'please GET OUT AND VOTE'.
