Adelita Grijalva is set to be sworn in, teeing up a potential vote on Epstein files
""I do believe that there is absolutely a connection," Grijalva said. "That has resulted in denying representation to more than 800,000 Arizonans for the last seven weeks.""
""I have no staff ... The phones don't work. There's no computer," Grijalva told NPR last month. "We don't have a government email.""
Adelita Grijalva will be sworn into Congress 50 days after winning a special election for Arizona's 7th District. The delay left more than 800,000 Arizonans without representation. Grijalva pledged to join a bipartisan petition that would provide the decisive 218th signature to force a vote on releasing Jeffrey Epstein files. House Speaker Mike Johnson kept members away during a government shutdown, saying he would not seat the winner until after the government reopened and later saying he would allow a vote on the Epstein files. Democrats accused Johnson of stalling to delay the vote. The House had not met since Sept. 19.
