"The loud sound that came with the sheets of rain and fierce wind of an atmospheric river storm that whipped through the Bay Area on Thursday and dumped more than 5 inches of precipitation in some places and more than a half-inch everywhere quieted Friday morning. Call it the calm before the next storm a new incoming system that may be aided by the the fading remnants of the first one."
"It's kind of looking mostly dry for Friday, National Weather Service Dalton Behringer said. There's gonna be a chance for some showers mainly in the Central Coast. Actually, a lot of people may see some sun. Then Saturday, we'll get back to a better chance for some more widespread rain. It won't be as heavy, and the better chances are south, but it's gonna be all over (the region)."
An atmospheric river produced heavy rain and fierce winds across the Bay Area, delivering over 5 inches in some locations and at least a half-inch regionwide. Conditions quieted Friday morning with mostly dry weather expected, a chance of showers on the Central Coast, and some sun for many areas. Rain chances rise Saturday with more widespread but lighter precipitation focused to the south, followed by a likely band of heavy rain Sunday evening. Highest cumulative totals occurred in the Santa Cruz Mountains and parts of the North Bay, while inland rain-shadowed areas saw much less.
