"A man was found dead on a sidewalk in the East Village Sunday afternoon, and police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death as suspicious, San Diego police said Monday. Someone called police reporting an unresponsive man on the sidewalk on 13th Street near F Street about 2:30 p.m., said Lt. Chris Tivanian. The man, who had severe injuries, was pronounced dead at the scene,"

Homicide detectives are investigating the death due to the suspicious nature of the man's death, he said. The man had not been identified as of Monday morning.
