"People assume I'm this pervert," she says. "But that's not what happened, what it was for me ... People can believe me, or people can think I'm full of shit and not listen. But I feel like I at least have to say it out loud for myself, once.""
"I don't know how this is true, but I'm going to plead guilty, because I am guilty. And I do believe that's true. And I'm going to trust that I'll be in therapy for years after this and figure out how this happened.""
"I've chosen peace and moved forward with my life," Joan said ahead of the podcast's release. "I pray for healing, truth, and closure for all who suffered under the darkness of NXIVM, Keith Raniere, Allison Mack, and those who enabled it.""
"I just looked at her and said, 'I'm a former neo-Nazi who used to kidnap people,'" Meeink says. "'Do you think I have any room to judge you?'"
Allison Mack, a former Smallville actress, describes her experience within NXIVM as both a victim and a recruiter and speaks openly about guilt and culpability. She pleaded guilty in 2021 to racketeering and racketeering conspiracy for recruiting women into DOS, the inner circle led by Keith Raniere, and served two years of a three-year sentence before release in 2023. A cited victim, Jessica Joan, affirmed the harm suffered and expressed a wish for healing and closure. Since release, Mack has begun a master's in social work, teaches arts in prisons, and married Frank Meeink, who said he does not judge her past.
