An 11-year-old boy is facing charges of murder after confessing to shooting 82-year-old Joe Cornelius Sr. and his daughter, Keisha Miles, during an incident over the weekend.
Minden Police Chief Jared McIver stated the boy has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail.
Chief McIver expressed concerns about the boy's actions, asking, 'Who knows why someone would do something this malicious at that age?' and highlighted the ongoing investigation to determine motives.
It remains uncertain whether the 11-year-old will be prosecuted as an adult, and the local Public Defender's Office is still verifying whether the boy will receive legal representation.
