Mohamed Salah was left out of Liverpool's starting lineup for the 2-0 win over West Ham, his first Premier League omission since April 2024. The selection change followed a run of nine defeats in 12 matches across competitions. Salah scored 29 league goals last season but has only four so far this campaign. Slot praised Salah's discipline, fitness and professionalism, and confirmed Salah will be absent for the Africa Cup of Nations from 15 December to 18 January.
