Giants sign old friend Drew Pomeranz
Briefly

The Giants re-united with an old friend, signing left-handed pitcher Drew Pomeranz to a one-year Major League deal. Pomeranz will immediately slot into the Giants bullpen and has the potential to work his way into the top lefty slot.
The team is very familiar with Pomeranz, as Farhan Zaidi not only signed him before, but was with the Oakland A's when they acquired Pomeranz. Pomeranz also spent the last two seasons with San Diego Padres under now-Giants manager Bob Melvin.
Pomeranz had a stellar performance in the 2021 season with a 1.75 ERA and a 3.01 FIP, though he has not pitched in an MLB game since then. He started the 2024 season with the Dodgers' AAA team before being released.
