The research indicates that 17% of nine to 13-year-olds have encountered content promoting dangerous stunts, while exposure to hate speech and misinformation is also prevalent.
The study reveals that children in this age group spend an average of 23.2 hours online each week, exceeding their parents’ awareness by two hours, raising alarm regarding supervision.
The data suggests a concerning negligence among parents, as around 74% of them do not utilize browser safe search settings or filters to protect their children online.
