Scientists know that when a species overpopulates its habitat, it outstrips the resources necessary for survival. Soon enough, the population grows weak. It succumbs to hunger, disease, and predation. Nature provides the mechanism for restoring balance.
There are too many humans on this planet! As a result, the stress on humankind is increasing rapidly as individuals perceive the looming danger. When threatened, humans resort to primitive defense mechanisms. They lash out at perceived enemies. Society breaks down.
