Bexley man with learning difficulties left without working shower for 'months'
Briefly

Beverley McDermott expressed deep concern over her brother's living conditions, stating, 'For us to go without a shower for a day or two, we just don't like it. For them to be left for months just having strip-washes we're going back to the 1950s.' This highlights the significant neglect and outdated care practices affecting residents with special needs.
Ms McDermott suspects a leak outside her brother's assisted living facility is the reason for the water pressure issues, saying, 'They told me about the water pressure and that they are not having showers.' Despite her complaint, Bexley Council seemingly did not take appropriate action.
In the context of inadequate facilities, McDermott noted the alternative care methods being used, stating, 'They are filling a bowl of water, but doing it in small bowls and transferring it from the tap.' This illustrates the dire circumstances in which her brother and other residents are living.
