Only nine theaters (compared to the 19 theaters that showed Oppenheimer in IMAX 70mm) are showing the second chapter of Dune in glorious IMAX 70mm in the United States, and New York City is home to one of them.
IMAX theaters allow sequences shot with IMAX film cameras to expand vertically and fill the entire screen. Using 15 perf / 70mm film, scenes are able to expand up to a 1.43:1 aspect ratio, engulfing audiences in the film and helping them to feel fully immersed in the movie like never before.
