Nurturing student entrepreneurs
Briefly

"What can I do to solve this problem?" wondered Shaukat. After studying biomedical engineering in the U.S., she decided to take action by co-founding Patient First.AI, which aimed to create a smart health card for patients in developing countries to manage their medical records."
On campus, Shaukat linked up with Rick Siegrist, director of innovation and entrepreneurship, and through tailored coursework, worked to map out the best path forward for her startup by gaining insights directly from physicians.
Shaukat discovered that local physicians were reluctant to adopt the digital platform because it required changes to their workflow, which led her to innovate a solution involving a smart pen and notebook to streamline the process.
Patient First.AI aims to revolutionize health care in developing countries by addressing fundamental record-keeping issues, emphasizing the importance of scalability and user-centered design in health tech innovations.
