This series is titled 'Skyscraper Girls' and is a representation of my experience as a curve model in the fashion industry. It expresses the heart-sinking feeling of being forced into too-tight clothes, of ripping seams, popping buttons and breaking zippers... of feeling like the largest thing a company can think of, of being tokenised and seen as lesser.
I believe that often the inclusion of plus size and curve models is celebrated so greatly, with no thought on how badly those models may have been treated behind the scenes. There is a long way to go to ensure equal treatment in this industry, and campaigns like the recent Emily Ratajkwoski disaster were the final push for me to express my disdain for fashion fatphobia.
