P.S. 54 in Brooklyn will be renamed this fall to honor slain NYPD Detective Rafael Ramos, who was killed in the line of duty in 2014.
The ceremony to rename the school in Ramos' honor will take place on September 13, commemorating his sacrifice and service to the community.
Ramos was one of two detectives, alongside Wenjian Liu, who were brutally murdered by Ismaaiyl Brinsley while they were on patrol, highlighting the dangers faced by law enforcement.
This renaming serves as a tribute not only to Detective Ramos but also to recognize the valor and sacrifice of all officers serving in law enforcement.
