Thousands of pro-Palestine protesters descended upon Union Square Park on Sept. 2, making their way through Manhattan to call for an end to the war in Gaza.
The protest, dubbed Flood NYC for Gaza, was marked by significant attendance, with demonstrators traveling from out of state in response to a call to arms on social media.
As the protest moved uptown towards Grand Central Station, instances of defiance against the NYPD were noted, including the arrest of a man for lighting a flare.
Demonstrators aimed to deliver a powerful message calling for the end of the years-long conflict that has resulted in tens of thousands of lives lost in Gaza.
