The city of Munich has approved renaming the address of the Allianz Arena and the area in front of the stadium 'Franz-Beckenbauer-Platz 5', in tribute to the late Franz Beckenbauer.
He's one of the greatest athletes our city has ever produced," said Munich's mayor Dieter Reiter, highlighting the significant impact Franz Beckenbauer had on football and the local community.
