Researchers from the Middle Technical University in Baghdad and the University of South Australia developed an AI technology that can analyze tongue colors for accurate disease diagnosis, achieving over 98% accuracy.
Their model classified tongue images into categories such as pink, white, red, yellow, green, blue, or gray, demonstrating the system's capacity to function effectively under various lighting conditions.
The highest-performing model utilized Extreme Gradient Boost (XGBoost), achieving an impressive accuracy rate of 96.6% during testing, correctly diagnosing 58 out of 60 images.
The study showcased the potential of AI in transforming diagnostic processes, highlighting how AI systems can surpass traditional medical professionals in specific analytical tasks.
