Air Canada must honor refund policy invented by airline's chatbot
Air Canada was forced to give a partial refund to a passenger after the airline's chatbot provided inaccurate information on its bereavement travel policy.
The chatbot misled the passenger into booking a flight immediately and then requesting a refund within 90 days, but Air Canada's actual policy stated that refunds are not provided for bereavement travel after booking. [ more ]
Northwell Health-GoHealth to Make Reimbursements for COVID-19 Vaccines
Northwell Health-GoHealth charged 731 patients in New York for COVID-19 vaccines, which were supposed to be administered at no out-of-pocket cost.
The New York Attorney General's office conducted an investigation and found that Northwell-GoHealth improperly billed patients a total of $14,996.05 in fees. [ more ]
Bitcoin Miner AntPool to Refund Record $3M BTC Transaction Fee
Bitcoin miner AntPool will refund a $3 million transactional fee that it processed last week after a likely user error.
Miners are not obligated to return fees to users but may choose to do so when the amounts are unusually large.
AntPool said it would verify the identity of the sender if they sign an on-chain message via another bitcoin transaction using the same message - which will prove ownership. [ more ]
