With the Miami Heat's inability to make a move at the NBA Trade Deadline, their reliance on the NBA Buyout Market here is crucial as they look to go into the second part of the season and make a deep run into the postseason.Managing to be a top-third team in the NBA, meaning the top 10 record-wise and regardless of how many may see them at this point in the year, the Miami Heat are still only a few pieces away from being one of those teams capable of going all the way.

Lakers fans were finally allowed the luxury of one long collective sigh of relief yesterday evening, when they finally dealt Russell Westbrook away and got an absolute haul in return with players like D'Angelo Russell, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Malik Beasley.While the Lakers may still be celebrating their successful trade, now could be the time for the Chicago Bulls to make a sneaky good pickup in free agency.

When Anthony Davis sat out against the Houston Rockets on the second night of the Los Angeles Lakers' most recent back-to-back last week, he (and the team) received quite a bit of criticism locally, and even nationally.Few cared that head coach Darvin Ham described Davis' foot as "an active injury" that the team is still treating, or about reports that the team had always planned to continue sitting Davis on the second night of back-to-backs regardless of how many minutes he played on night one.

The LA Clippers improved both their backcourt and frontcourt depth in a flurry of moves in the hours before Thursday's trade deadline.Denver Nuggets point guard Bones Hyland and Houston Rockets shooting guard Eric Gordon are both heading to L.A. in separate deals.The Clippers are also adding center Mason Plumlee from the Charlotte Hornets.

The LA Clippers have joined the pursuit of Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving, sources told ESPN on Saturday.The Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns -- among others -- have been engaging with the Nets since Irving's trade demand on Friday, sources said.

LOS ANGELES -- Ask almost any member of the Golden State Warriors, and they will tell you it's fitting they're entering the All-Star break at .500 with a 29-29 record.Their 29th loss of the season came Tuesday night against the LA Clippers, 134-124.Once again, their main issue was defense.The Clippers outscored the Warriors 44-28 in the third quarter, and Golden State never recovered.

There is optimism that Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry will return from his left leg injury during the team's three-game road trip next week, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski on Wednesday.Curry has not played since Feb. 4, when he suffered partial tears to his superior tibiofibular ligaments and interosseous membrane as well as a contusion to his left lower leg when the knee collided with one of Dallas Mavericks point guard McKinley Wright IV's knees.
