French warship turned field hospital treats injured Gazans off Egyptian coast
A French field hospital aboard a ship off the coast of Egypt has provided care for about 1,000 people from Gaza as the health infrastructure in the enclave collapses.
The ship, named Dixmude, has been docked in the Egyptian port of al-Arish since November, equipped with wards, operating theatres, and 70 medical staff.
Over 25,000 Palestinians have been killed in the war, with most of Gaza's hospitals no longer functioning and the remaining ones operating at far over capacity. [ more ]
